Liu Bolin - No.90

Liu Bolin's work, No.90 is a work made in 2010 in a limited edition of 8 examples and is an archival pigment print.

The work is part of Bolin's series of photographs "Hiding in the City "in which the artist is painted blending in with his surroundings. In this work, the place where the artist disappears is an expanse of flowers that form the inscription "Guoqing," signifying the national day of the People's Republic of China established in 1949 by Mao Zedong.

By blending into the environment, Liu Bolin aims to explore the relationship between individuals and their surroundings while raising awareness of the impact of urbanization and social change on the cultural landscape. In this work, the artist directly confronts the grandeur of China, which is so vast that we feel engulfed, incorporated into society, without even realizing it.

Liu Bolin's work No. 90 measures 80x63 cm.
