"Taking a snippet of something I like and making it mine is part of my training.

One of the first songs published with the indie-art-rock training with which I was a militant in the 80s, the Spirocheta Pergoli, used for a piece of music (yes, let's call it that), a fragment of a radio newscast in which Ruggero Orlando (famous journalist of American news), repetitively commented on the attack on the then US president, Ronald Reagan. But it was not a sample: I had recorded the radio broadcast, then I recorded another tape over and over again the same phrases, sending a small tape recorder back and forth, thus realizing a pre-sampling before there was an instrument as the sampler (which would have become in common use only in 1985). The culture of wild sampling really broke through with hip-pop in the following years, and before the laws were issued that limited the use of samples by asking for copyright for their use, the music world was a total paradise for any creative musician-plagiarist.

This work of mine is a kind of composition for champions, only in this case the samples are of well-known characters all over the world. It is as if I were re-playing signs, as if my sign re-interpreted other drawings. The dream of every designer, of every comic book author is to be able to compare with certain myths, and to give their own interpretation. I would like to draw the stories of a scared Superman and a Batman vampire, a luminous woman and a luminous little girl bickering each other, a cubist Lupine, an elastic Astro-boy like Mr. Fantastic and futurist, and finally a Catwoman-virus that covers fake glossy leather any surface. It would be a less boring world. "

Massimo Giacon was born in Padua in 1961.

In 1980, Giacon debuted in the comics drawing on the monthly Il Mago di Mondadori, continuing with Frigidaire, Tempi Supplementari, Frizzer, Linus, ALTERLINUS (Milan Books / Rizzoli), Dolce Vita, Tic, Nova Express (Granata Press), Cyborg (Telemaco), Mondo Mongo (Phoenix), Blue (Rabbit), The Artist. He collaborates, as an illustrator, in La Gola, Alfabeta, Elle, Per Lui, Glamor, Rockerilla, Rumore.

In 1981 he founded Trax together with Piermario Ciani and Vittore Baroni, which continued until 1987. Trax was a project open to interconnections involving over 500 artists and musicians from different countries in the production of records, cassettes, audiomagazine, serigraphs, comics, T-shirts and performance.

In 1984 he taught at the cartoon school Uncle Feininger. Publishes the collection of short stories, Mecanostorie, which contain works created on texts by Mimì Colucci (Primo Carnera, 1985). Among the numerous exhibitions of his comic book production, Nuovo Fumetto Italiano (1991) International Festival of the Bande Dessineée of Sierre (1993), Treviso Comics (1997), Lucca Comics & Games (1998). Illustrates various advertising campaigns, such as Eminence, Videomusic, Absolut vodka and designs objects and fabrics for Rainbow, Memphis, Interflex, Artemide, Ritzenhoff, Octopus, Design Gallery, Fine Factory, Super Ego design and watches for Swatch and the long collaboration with Ettore Sottsass study.

Many works (not all) have an exposed VAT of 5% included in the price, this vat will be spun off! Obviously you will pay the VAT to your destination country, if due.
