THE ARTWORK
Postcard signed in original, Gertrude Stein II.227 is one of the ten subjects of the portfolio created in 1980 by Andy Warhol "Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century".
This is Warhol's first collaboration with the gallerist Robert Feldman, whom he continued to work with throughout the 1980s. The “Jewish Geniuses” series (as Warhol referred to the project) featured portraits of a selection of "remarkable" Jews: Warhol retrieved archival images and reworked them in his unmistakable style and characteristic Pop Art aesthetic. The series was first exhibited at the Jewish Museum in 1980.
The work is an invitation card: these are the postcards that Warhol used to send to friends and acquaintances as invitations to his exhibitions, signing them in original.
The portfolio of numbered and signed screenprints from which this postcard comes from is published in the catalogue raisonné F. Feldman, J. Schellmann, "Andy Warhol Prints. A Catalogue Raisonné 1963-1987," 4th Edition at pp. 112/113.

TAX
if you LIVE IN EU
If you live in Europe (CEE) the price we show you already includes taxes. The works are taxed either with VAT exposed (5%) or VAT with the margin, if you are a private person you do not change anything, if you are a company: in In the first case, you will recover the VAT, in the second, no. When you put the works in the cart you will be separated from the vat exposed.
If you DON'T LIVE IN EU and you want an EXTRA EU shipping
Many works (not all) have an exposed VAT of 5% included in the price, this vat will be spun off! Obviously you will pay the VAT to your destination country, if due.
