Thank you!
In the contemporary world, where art and design increasingly intertwine, the Archibald “Delicate Balance” Limited Edition project marks a significant step. On one side, Shepard Fairey, known as Obey, a central figure in international Street Art; on the other, Poltrona Frau, a symbol of Italian manufacturing excellence. The result is a creation that goes beyond a simple design object, transforming into a work with strong cultural value.
The project will be presented during Milan Design Week 2026 (April 13–26), this limited edition is part of the “True Over Time” concept, the guiding theme of Poltrona Frau’s new collection. A theme that reflects on authenticity and the ability to endure over time, perfectly aligned with Fairey’s artistic research.
Shepard Fairey is known for a powerful visual language, capable of merging aesthetics and message. His works, rooted in urban culture, are tools for reflecting on social and political themes.
In Delicate Balance, this approach translates into an intense image: a symbolic female figure, interpretable as Mother Nature, intertwines with natural elements such as flowers and birds. The result is a composition that invites reflection on the fragile balance between humanity and the environment.
Here, Fairey reworks his iconic imagery, building a new visual narrative that connects past, present, and future.
The Archibald armchair, designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2009, is already a classic of contemporary design. With this project, it takes on a new dimension: no longer just furniture, but an artistic surface.
Obey’s intervention does not alter the structure but amplifies its meaning. The armchair thus becomes a meeting point between function and vision, between craftsmanship and urban culture.
The upholstery in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere Impact Less represents a step forward toward more sustainable production. On this surface, Fairey’s artwork comes to life through advanced digital printing techniques and three-dimensional processing.
The result is a rich and layered visual effect, where color and material interact in an innovative way.
The project also stands out for its ethical component: for every piece sold, two trees are planted in Guatemala, supporting a social project dedicated to local women’s communities.
A gesture that strengthens the message of the work and enhances its overall value.
Limited to 200 numbered editions, this piece is conceived as a true collectible object. Each armchair is accompanied by exclusive details: a polished brass plate, a signed certificate of authenticity, and a dedicated clutch.
A project that brings together art, design, and contemporary vision, perfectly aligned with Shepard Fairey’s artistic path.
