Thank you!
From October 15, 2025 to March 22, 2026, Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano will host the exhibition “BANKSY and Street Art”, a unique journey into the heart of one of the most disruptive artistic movements of our time.
Curated by Daniel Buso and organized by ARTIKA in collaboration with Deodato Arte and the City of Conegliano, the exhibition presents more than 80 works tracing the history and evolution of street art, from its origins to today’s most iconic figures.
The exhibition is structured around four key themes found in the work of Banksy and other street artists: rebellion, pacifism, consumerism, and critique of the system. A path designed to encourage reflection on an art form born as an act of protest, now displayed in museums and international markets.
Visitors are invited to question the contradictions of street art and its role in contemporary society: can an art born in illegality become institutional without losing its revolutionary force?
The roots of street art stretch back centuries: from cave graffiti to post-war political murals, from Mexican muralism to New York graffiti in the 1970s and 1980s. In this context emerged the enigmatic figure of Banksy, a British artist whose identity remains unknown.
His works – often created using stencil technique – are rapid interventions in urban space, blending irony, social critique, and powerful visual impact. From children in gas masks to soldiers drawing peace symbols, every work delivers a strong message about the conflicts and contradictions of contemporary society.
Alongside Banksy, the exhibition also features works by other major names in the field:
“BANKSY and Street Art” is not just an exhibition, but an immersive and visually powerful journey. A narrative that introduces visitors to an art form born from the streets, transforming walls into vibrant, meaningful canvases that redefine public space while continuing to challenge and provoke our times.
