Deodato Arte: A 2025 of Major Exhibitions, New Perspectives, and Opportunities for the Art Market

2025 has been an extraordinary year for Deodato Arte, which has once again confirmed its role as a leading figure in the contemporary art scene in Italy and worldwide.

Through major international exhibitions, new artists, and significant developments in the art market, the gallery has successfully blended creativity, innovation, and passion in a path that looks to the future of visual culture.

From Bologna to Milan: A Journey Through Dream, Design, and Color

The year began in Bologna with Oltre il Reale by David LaChapelle, one of the most acclaimed exhibitions of the season. The American artist’s iconic photographs transported the public into a universe suspended between dream and reality, where spectacular aesthetics and spiritual reflection merge into images of great visual impact.

A triumph of both public and critical acclaim, confirming Deodato Arte’s dedication to the great masters of the international contemporary scene.

In spring, the spotlight shifted to Milan with Forma Infinitum, the first solo exhibition in Italy by ADD Fuel, hosted in the Wunderkammern gallery. The Portuguese artist, known for his contemporary reinterpretation of traditional azulejos, transformed heritage into an unprecedented visual language of geometry, optical illusions, and hypnotic patterns, blending memory, craftsmanship, and street art.

An immersive experience that captivated designers, architects, and collectors, strengthening the connection between art and contemporary design.

Japan Pop Art: The Charm of the Rising Sun in Milan

Among the highlights of 2025, Japan Pop Art brought to Milan the leading names of the Japanese art scene: Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and Tomoko Nagao—three distinct yet complementary visions of an art that bridges tradition and pop culture.

Kusama’s famous pumpkin sculptures, symbols of vitality and infinity, and Murakami’s colorful works made the exhibition a must-see event for collectors and admirers of Japanese aesthetics. The show illustrated how pop language can engage with philosophy and spirituality, creating a bridge between East and West.

TvBoy and the Power of Love in Urban Art

In May, again in Milan, TvBoy presented Omnia Vincit Amor—a visual hymn to love as a universal force.

Irony, energy, and color filled the gallery, turning the opening night into a true urban celebration. With his unmistakable style, TvBoy celebrated love in all its forms—romantic, social, and universal—through powerful and instantly recognizable imagery.

A success that confirms him as one of the most authentic and relevant voices in Italian urban art.

Art as an Urban Engine: Massa Street Art

During the summer, the Massa Street Art – The Sign of Urban Change project transformed the Tuscan city into an open-air museum. Murals and site-specific interventions told stories of community vitality and the power of art to regenerate public spaces, offering citizens new forms of shared beauty.

Jeff Koons and Richard Orlinski: Two International Protagonists

Autumn brought two major international exhibitions.

From October 4, 2025 to April 6, 2026, Fiorenzuola d’Arda hosts JEFF KOONS — Balloons & Wonders at Palazzo Bertamini Lucca. This exceptional event brings to Emilia some of the most iconic works by the American artist—sculptures and installations that explore the relationship between aesthetics, consumerism, and collective imagination—turning the city into a new international hub for contemporary art.

Meanwhile, in Bologna, Galleria Cavour 1959 presents The Wild Show by Richard Orlinski, on view until December 14. His sculptures of wild animals—symbols of freedom and power—embody the tension between strength and fragility, becoming icons of a humanity seeking harmony with nature.

New Artists, New Voices: Jacopo Di Cera and Johnny Depp

Throughout 2025, Deodato Arte welcomed two new artists into its roster:

  • Jacopo Di Cera, whose aerial photography transforms everyday scenes into emotional maps;
  • and Johnny Depp, who surprised the public by presenting a series of intimate, autobiographical screenprints, revealing a deep and unexpected artistic side.

A New Horizon for the Art Market

2025 also marked a historic turning point for the Italian art market: the reduction of VAT on artworks to 5% made art more accessible, encouraging investment and expanding an increasingly aware and passionate audience.

A decisive step that opens new opportunities for galleries, collectors, and emerging artists alike.

Deodato Arte: A Reference Point for the Contemporary Scene

With a rich calendar of exhibitions, events, and international collaborations, Deodato Arte continues to be a point of reference for contemporary art, capable of connecting cultures, languages, and diverse creative visions.

The gallery reaffirms its mission: to make art accessible, engaging, and sustainable, telling the story of our time through the creativity of its protagonists.
