Jeff Koons a Vieste

Torre San Felice, 14 June – 14 September 2025

Contemporary Art Lands on the Gargano

After London, Paris, and New York, the visual and conceptual universe of Jeff Koons arrives in Puglia. From 14 June to 14 September 2025, the striking Torre San Felice in Vieste hosts an exhibition dedicated to one of the most influential artists of recent decades.

A unique opportunity to admire some of his most iconic works, in a surprising dialogue between past and present, consumerism and contemplation, spirituality and irony.

The exhibition is curated by Deodato Arte Gallery, in collaboration with Giuseppe Benvenuto.

A Four-Stage Journey Through Koons’s Work

1. Balloon Animals: the ephemeral made eternal

The exhibition opens with the renowned Balloon Animals series. Among these, the famous Balloon Dog stands out as the undisputed symbol of Koons’s artistic vision. Here, the lightness of childhood becomes monumental; the glossy surface captures the gaze and offers formal perfection that elevates the everyday.

2. Antiquity: where the classical meets the postmodern

The second section is devoted to the Antiquity series, where Koons reinterprets the legacy of classical art. Statues, symbols, and ancient myths are reimagined through a lens of irony and sensuality, creating a visual and conceptual bridge between timeless archetypes and contemporary sensitivity.

3. Gazing Ball: the viewer within the artwork

At the heart of the third section lies the Gazing Ball series: reflective spheres embedded in reproductions of Western masterpieces. These works invite viewers to become part of the artwork itself. The mirrored surfaces involve, disorient, and provoke, creating a powerful exchange between observer and observed.

4. Pop Icons: elegance and engagement

The exhibition concludes with a selection of symbolic works, including ceramic plates and the striking Seated Ballerina sculpture. Here, the pop imagery is elevated with grace and elegance, while reflective surfaces continue to foster an engaging, multisensory experience.

An Immersive Exhibition in a Unique Setting

Overlooking the crystal-clear sea of the Gargano coast, Torre San Felice provides a breathtaking and unconventional venue for showcasing Koons’s work. The encounter between historical architecture and contemporary art enhances every detail of the artist’s poetic vision in a visually captivating contrast.

An International Event in Southern Italy

It marks the first time such an extensive selection of Koons’s work is presented in Southern Italy, establishing Vieste as a new destination for contemporary art lovers from Italy and beyond.
