Johnny Depp - Deodato Salafia - Marzia Pasqualone
Deodato Arte is proud to present for the first time in Italy the artistic universe of Johnny Depp.
The artist enters the Italian market with exclusive works that reflect his vision of the world — transforming memory into images and revealing the beauty hidden in life’s most delicate details.
His creations offer an intimate and profound perspective on reality, inviting the viewer to pause and notice what often goes unseen: the gestures, emotions, and memories that make every experience unique.
From a young age, Johnny Depp has explored the world through drawing and painting, turning everyday observations into layered and intense images. His art is a fluid and expressive language — a balance between precision and spontaneity — blending figures, gestures, symbols, and text into compositions that evoke deep emotion.
For many years, his works remained private, shared only with family and close friends. Since deciding to make them public, his art has received immediate acclaim, confirming the audience’s fascination with his unique perspective on life and memory.
The works presented in Italy, Study I and Study II, belong to the Yesterday’s Flowers series and capture the delicate resilience of flowers.
On textured, slightly cracked surfaces, the blossoms seem to emerge from the very fissures of time, while the sky in the background shifts in tone — from soft ochre to periwinkle — suggesting the slow passage of days, seasons, and eras.
The changing colors and surfaces evoke Italian history and tradition: ancient walls, faded frescoes, and time-worn textures become metaphors for resilience, where beauty persists despite transformation.
These are not nostalgic images, but meditations on the flow of life — each flower becomes a symbol of what endures beyond the surface of things.
The works invite the viewer to pause, linger on the details, and rediscover the constants that remain in a world that changes so quickly.
“These works reveal an authentic Johnny Depp, free from any role. With Yesterday’s Flowers, he shows the most intimate side of his gaze — one that looks at the world with depth, passion, and wonder. It’s a story of fragility that speaks of strength.”

We had the opportunity to meet Johnny Depp in person and fully immerse ourselves in his artistic project.
Sitting together to discuss his vision, we could sense what his images convey beyond the surface of painting: emotion, memory, and the slow passage of time transformed into matter and color.
His art becomes a bridge between personal experience and shared perception — an invitation to pause and observe what endures, even in a world that changes so quickly.
Bringing his works to Italy was not just an exhibition project, but a true journey into his artistic sensibility.
Johnny Depp’s works invite us to pause and be moved by emotion, memory, and the beauty found in life’s most delicate details.
