Thank you!
From February 18 to March 8, Milan becomes the stage for a unique encounter between heritage and contemporaneity thanks to POP SURREAL, the second chapter of the collaboration between Delvaux — the world’s oldest luxury leather goods Maison — and Deodato Arte. The Delvaux boutique in the city transforms into a true gallery, where artisanal savoir-faire engages in a dialogue with the vibrant and irreverent language of contemporary art.
Conceived as a group exhibition, POP SURREAL places contemporary artists at the center, with a focus on Daniele Fortuna, whose work becomes the narrative’s guiding thread. The urban dimension enters the space through the luminosity and dynamism of Marco Lodola, bringing the imagery and movement of the city into the boutique, creating a perfect parallel with the world of Delvaux: elegant, refined, yet always evolving.
Inside the space, the Maison’s iconic handbags — true sculptural objects to be worn — interact with contemporary artworks, creating an environment that feels both curated and alive. The result is a display where boutique and gallery merge harmoniously, showing how craftsmanship and contemporary art can elevate each other.
Fortuna’s reinterpreted classical statues, defined by color and subtraction, reflect Delvaux’s philosophy: timeless luxury, precise yet never static, capable of expressing elegance with personality. The artist’s sculptural language resonates naturally with the balanced proportions and meticulous attention to detail of the Maison, reinforcing the idea that true luxury evolves without losing its identity.
POP SURREAL is not just an exhibition, but a statement: craftsmanship and contemporary art, side by side, enhance one another, creating a unique sensory and visual experience.
The exhibition is open until March 8 at the Delvaux Milan boutique.
